From time to time, a change is welcome in our homes, especially when we refer to the redecoration of a room. Inspiration can be found at any moment so that the moments spent at home are as pleasant as possible.

The bedroom is the place for relaxation and rest. Often, we are tempted to clutter it with various things which unconsciously cause us discomfort. As a reaction to this, minimalism comes to demonstrate that we don't need much to have a perfect arrangement.

Minimalism is a preferred style of our times, translating into the desire to keep a space as airy, free, uncluttered and above all very well organized. Although seemingly bland, the minimalist space is defined by clarity and good taste, calmness and relaxation as opposed to the daily hustle and bustle and the information boom we are exposed to every day.

“Less is more” embodies the concept that underlies the minimalist style. To feel good in our own bedroom, we need so little. Efficient organization is the first step towards achieving a minimalist bedroom.

Our advice is to eliminate everything you don't use constantly and, if possible, keep only the furniture pieces that truly serve you.

Grays in light tones and white will enhance the spaciousness of the room, while black accents, through contrast, will create an impact on the decor. Color accents are welcome: explore at a decorative level – pillows, bedding or rugs.

Natural light is very important for the bedroom, as it is for any room. Opt for almost transparent curtains, white or in pale shades, as open as possible so that the light can easily penetrate the room. In the evening you can draw the drapes for privacy.

Pay due attention to furniture. If the bedroom space is not very generous, then give up the idea of bulky furniture. Replace the frame with a platform on which to mount the mattress. Instead of nightstands, you can opt for suspended shelves fixed to the wall or a headboard. This will save space and make the entire room appear airier.

Or choose a nightstand model with simple, linear shapes, possibly raised off the floor.

To illustrate the idea of minimalism in a bedroom as best as possible, we have made a selection of photographs which we invite you to view in the gallery above.
