If we had magical power to increase the space of rooms, the kitchen would be the winning room. However, as most kitchens we have encountered tend to be small, we return to earth and look for ideas, solutions, and design models from which to draw inspiration. Here are a few ideas worth sharing.
Often we recommend the Scandinavian style for kitchen design. Simplicity, as well as its functional approach, make this style suitable for any kitchen, big or small. White or cream are predominant in such designs, their role being to visually enlarge the space and increase brightness.
However, we recommend that you don't shy away from bolder colors. Use them on smaller portions, such as in the area between cabinets (with patchwork ceramic tiles) or even at the lower cabinets. You could try a wallpaper that you integrate on the side with the table or why not by the window (see the model in the gallery).
Choose a subtle print in shades that will cheer up the atmosphere.
O A color combination that we have recently encountered is gray and yellow. Unexpectedly successful and pleasant! It's worth exploring this option. Don't forget about proper lighting, especially in the countertop area.
It's okay if you don't like colors. The black-and-white contrast won't go out of style anytime soon. Black, whether at the level of the floor, cabinets or maybe the sink or chairs, will create depth and an extra touch of interest in the decor. Opt for a glossy finish that reflects light.
When it comes to furniture arrangement, straight-line configurations or those in the shape of the letter L are the most common. Compact pieces with cabinets that go all the way to the ceiling thus offering more storage are recommended to provide you with the necessary comfort. Choose built-in appliances as much as possible to enhance the unity of the design.
Choose a folding or extendable table to optimize the available space. If the space is too small, skip the table and consider setting up a longer countertop that you can use for dining. When not in use, chairs can be tucked away, freeing up circulation in the kitchen.
