The layout we propose today shows us once again that small spaces don't have to be boring despite their size. Intense colors, prints, drawings and varied geometries - this is how this small Moscow apartment, designed by Marina and Olga, won us over.
Initially, the space was intended to be furnished for rent, but after the completion of the works, the beneficiary was still undecided whether he would continue with this plan. It's no wonder. Let's find out more details about the concept and design.
With an area of just over 40 square meters, this small apartment could easily be transformed into a studio type, with a single room that would have been divided into several functions. However, both Marina and the beneficiary thought about how important it is to have an intimate space for rest, and from there they decided that another room was needed where the bedroom would be furnished.
In addition, in the living room, with the help of a sofa bed, you can accommodate a guest overnight. A generous storage space, a walk-in closet type dressing room, was also created in the bedroom.
The living area was designed as an open plan where the living room, kitchen and hallway communicate directly. For the kitchen, they created a personality zone marked by the false ceiling, bar area and lots of blue. In addition, two partitions discreetly separate the perimeter related to the cooking space.
For the decor, the two designers relied on strong colors that would attract attention and take the design out of a banal zone. Thus, against a background of white and a few neutral shades, the blue of the kitchen, the print of the wallpaper or the turquoise of the sofa transform the space into one with personality. The wall opposite the sofa is decorated with a geometric wallpaper that also covers the bedroom door.
The effect obtained is extraordinary, and the choice is truly courageous!
This apartment doesn't bore you. Intense colors are balanced by white, and touches of red or yellow add extra dynamism to the decor. Accents of blue will also be found in the bedroom, and the bathroom will surely surprise you! A play of white with yellow manages to imprint a lot of light and warmth into the space.
