If you just moved from a 2-bedroom to a 3-bedroom apartment, for example, the furniture you own may be inadequate for the new dimensions of the rooms, or maybe the finishes are such that nothing you already have fits.

Wardrobes are too small, the sofa is too big, the spaces for electronics and appliances are too large or oddly placed, problems can arise at every step.

Next, you need to think about which room will be the living room and which one will be a bedroom. Maybe you want to turn the second bedroom into an office or dressing room if you don't have children, and changing the purpose of a room is a process that needs to take many factors into account.

For example, north-facing rooms are not ideal for an office because you don't have as much daylight as you need, while for a bedroom it is an ideal space. Maybe it's the room next to the bathroom with the bathtub or shower and you won't be able to sleep if others use the bathroom at times when you want to sleep, etc.
