How do you envision your kitchen layout? If you feel stuck and can't find suitable solutions, we thought we'd put together a selection of different approaches and layout proposals to help you shape the kitchen of your dreams.

We focused on small kitchens that don't exceed 6, 7, or 8 square meters in area, as they are among the most common in many of our apartments.

Before starting the design, take a break and make a plan! What do you want from your kitchen? How many square meters do you have available? How often will you cook? Think about your real needs and put them first.

Choose finishes appropriate for the level of use of your kitchen. Opt for materials that are resistant to stains and moisture to extend the life of your furniture.

Go to specialty stores, ask questions, check, document yourself! Very often, for small kitchens, custom-made furniture is the optimal solution.

Think about how you will arrange the furniture, appliances, and storage spaces so that they are at hand when you cook. Consider the shape of your kitchen and think about the work area or the work triangle. This will determine how efficient your kitchen is.

The work triangle is based on the three main activity points in the kitchen: the sink, the oven, and the refrigerator. Therefore, it's good for all these workstations to be as close as possible to the cook.

You can also consider removing partitions to gain additional space. However, make sure that the wall can be removed, in case of a load-bearing wall between rooms. There is also the possibility of extending your kitchen into the balcony or hallway by removing the door and the respective wall.

When choosing furniture and appliances, keep in mind the arrangement methods that will help you have a functional space. Thus, in a small space, the key word is adaptation. Having a limited area, compact kitchens, arranged linearly are the best option.

In this case, the appliances will be incorporated into the furniture so that everything looks unified and tidy.
