We're talking about small spaces here, on the pages of our blog. We choose to do this because many of you live in such spaces and we believe that any advice and ideas are welcome. Of all these, the bathroom is predominantly one of the smallest and narrowest rooms in our homes.

There are a few basic rules you can apply when designing your bathroom. From colors to lighting, finishes and storage, these will be helpful in achieving the right decor. However, we shouldn't ignore the style and details that personalize our bathroom.

Neutral chromatics, ranging from white to cream and beige or even light greys, are recommended to enhance the feeling of spaciousness in a bathroom. For an added touch of drama, you can try adding an accent wall in a darker color which will create depth and add a touch of elegance to the decor.

For those who prefer this option, it is important to ensure adequate lighting so that the entire bathroom space is highlighted. I have detailed the correct bathroom lighting in this article.

Since we're talking about a small space, it's necessary to always maintain order and keep things well organized. That's why the type of storage and solutions you choose are important.

We know you'll want to put as many things in the bathroom as possible, but keep in mind that some cosmetics deteriorate in the humid bathroom environment, and cleaning products are toxic and should be kept elsewhere. If you choose to install the washing machine in the bathroom, you can place a small cabinet above it for detergents and fabric softener.

You can also choose shelves or cabinets to take over some of the storage, or you can summarize everything in 2-3 deeper drawers of the lavatory.

Consider the style you desire for your bathroom. A modern, minimalist style with white predominating and few accessories, or perhaps towards a slightly rustic or vintage style with wooden parts of course, decorations and specific elements.
