Small spaces in our homes oblige us to be proactive and at the same time make the best decisions to be as organized as possible inside them. Even if this means giving up certain pieces of furniture, let's see which ones can be eliminated without too many implications for the space.

In the living room, the sofa is the centerpiece. The coffee table follows, which finds multiple uses and should be within reach. The game of arranging with the other pieces remains at your discretion. Thus, you can easily give up armchairs if you choose a corner sofa. Or you can keep just one armchair.

You can certainly do without any other side tables or dressers that would unnecessarily occupy space.

And since we're talking about the living room, the dresser on which the TV stands can disappear, it being able to be mounted directly on the wall. Suspended shelves are recommended because they let the space breathe, the visual effect being one of lightness. Massive library units only attract clutter and dust, so we advise you to give them up.

If your bedrooms fall into the category of small spaces, it's time to analyze them carefully. Do you really need two bedside tables, two pieces of furniture that sometimes are just a support for a glass of water or a book? Imagine how the whole atmosphere will transform if you replaced them with two mini shelves attached to the headboard.

You would gain space and the room would seem a little airier.

A desk is one of those pieces of furniture that can be given up to save space. If you have a laptop on which you work only occasionally, then the desk doesn't really make sense anymore. You can use the kitchen table or the coffee table instead. If you don't have a desk anymore, you won't need a desk chair either.

If you still absolutely need a desk, you can try a smaller version that takes up less space in the room.

The dining table or the one you use when you have guests can be a piece of furniture you can give up, especially if there is no special place for it within the room. You could try an extendable version, which you only assemble when needed.
