The mood of a home is built and maintained through fine details and discreet colors. And what simpler method is there to achieve this than with flowers? Indeed, plants and flowers have the power to lift our spirits and revitalize any dull or monotonous decor.

Today we set out to show you a few care and arrangement tricks so that your flower bouquet shines for as long as possible in the vase.

How to keep flowers fresh longer

If you received budded flowers and want them to open as quickly as possible so you can enjoy their beauty, use the following trick: after the cut explained above, place them in a vase with warm water and leave them for one minute. Then move them to a vase with cold water for 20 minutes. During this time, the flowers will open to their maximum.

This is a treatment you can use, for example, on peonies.

To delay wilting, add a few drops of vodka and a teaspoon of sugar to their vase. When they do start to wilt, you can save them for another day or two by adding a shot of vodka (approximately 30 ml). It works wonders for tulips.

to keep the flowers' water fresh longer, add a coin to the vase. Ideally, the coin should contain copper because this metal acts as an acidifier, preventing bacteria or fungi from growing and destroying the flower stems.
