Current trends propose minimalist treatments for spaces, with an emphasis on functionality and an aesthetic reduced to the essential. Thus, we often encounter kitchens furnished in the spirit of the Scandinavian style, where simple lines prevail, with a minimal design and plenty of white.
However, beautiful kitchens can also be designed in more colorful styles, with textures and prints inspired by nature. Here is such an example that we would like to propose to you today, a model of arrangement realized in the Provençal spirit.
We are talking about a 9 square meter kitchen, from an apartment building. The beneficiaries wanted a cheerful and colorful space where they could cook with pleasure and have meals together. They disliked the idea of a monotonous white and a banal arrangement, so they wanted color and the inspiration of nature as in the rustic interiors of the Provençal region.
Although beautiful, pleasant and warm, such arrangements are suitable for large spaces. Therefore, they chose to outline the idea of Provençal through colors, textures and accessories, while the rest should be functional and adapted to the small space of the apartment building.
Thus, they chose to borrow the green of grass, the purple of lavender, the floral motif and the warmth of clay soil and transpose them at the level of the decor in a very pleasant and creative way. They chose functional furniture that would provide their storage needs and offer efficient work areas.
The L-shaped layout offers freedom of movement in the kitchen and allows for the integration of a dining area. They wanted the appliances to be built-in to enhance the unified and orderly character of the arrangement.
They opted for an oak wood countertop and ceramic tiles for the backsplash between the cabinets in a sand color, adding a touch of warmth to the decor. The ceramic tiles are a pastel green, a shade continued on half of the accent wall next to the table, but also on the wall with the window.
The other half was covered with floral wallpaper, in shades of purple, commonly found in the Provençal style. To have extra storage space, they installed shelves and added decorations and accessories that bring a touch of personality to the room.
We hope this absolutely wonderful kitchen arrangement inspires you too!
