Inspiration for today comes in the form of this 48 square meter apartment designed for a young man who wanted a comfortable and modern space. To get the most out of the layout, the apartment's space was optimized through a few modifications.
One of these was the creation of a sleeping area in a former pantry; work was done on the non-load-bearing walls so that the space could be furnished with a bed and a dresser. Then, the rest of the room was enlarged by removing the loggia-type balcony and integrating it into the living room space.
The resulting layout is more coherent, and the entire surface area of the apartment is used efficiently. The dwelling is brighter, and the functions intertwine harmoniously.
From the entrance, the hallway space offers a dynamic feel, with an accent wall finished in blue. White furniture pieces, along with a mirror, contribute to creating a decor that catches your eye, chromatically balancing the space.
The living area inspires a retro vibe through the details of the chosen elements. The room is approached minimally, allowing the space to breathe. Furniture ensures storage needs are met through the two cabinets that are part of the body positioned next to the sleeping area. Decorative details enrich the sensory experience through textures and colors, while finishes reflect light and amplify the space.
Artificial lighting also plays an important role through ceiling spotlights and orientable projectors on a track, which ensure uniform lighting throughout the apartment.
For the kitchen, the design follows a retro-inspired line but maintains a contemporary character. The young owner chose to forgo upper cabinets in the kitchen, replacing them with two shelves that allow for the display of various decorations with a theme. Thus, the main storage is concentrated in the lower cabinets.
The compact arrangement on a single side of the furniture, including appliances, provides extra space for the dining area, which is set by the window. Framed posters complete the image of the discreet retro style outlined by the table and chairs set, while the oversized lighting fixture highlights this setup.
