Architect and designer Alexandra Stancu managed to transform a space of only a few square meters into a modern and beautifully decorated studio, perfect for a young student.
The request for this project came from a family in Tulcea who were preparing for their daughter's entry into the Faculty of Medicine in Bucharest. The studio already had parquet flooring, doors, tiles, faience, and sanitary ware, so we started furnishing the small apartment taking these elements into account.
For the bedroom, a simple line of white furniture was chosen, marked by the oceanic influence of the color on the wall. The room was animated by the paintings on the wall where the young owner could put her stamp through the chosen images.
The living room maintains the same minimalist line, but the emphasis is on the yellow used both for the furniture and one of the walls. In the same room, a study area is also designed, consisting of a classic desk and a few shelves.
The kitchen is linear and semi-open space with the living room, which is why we kept the same line and colors as in the living room. The area is still separated by a sliding glass door behind which there is a tall serving counter.
No major changes were made to the bathroom, and the objects chosen for decoration integrated perfectly into the design proposed for the rest of the dwelling.

Since it is a studio, the storage space has been optimized to the maximum, there are currently two wardrobes, a coat rack and a shoe cabinet at the entrance.
In addition to these, there are other storage areas within the living room furniture and desk, the kitchen compartment which hides besides the stove, hood, oven, refrigerator and a washing machine and last but not least the bathroom cabinet.
The budget allocated to this project was approximately 5500 euros which included: furniture, curtains and drapes, lighting fixtures, appliances, other accessories.
Although she worked on a design project for a small apartment, arch. Alexandra Stancu wanted to create a unified background with natural textures on which she applied strong accents.
