A spa resort closed by communists in Vrancea will be revived and become energy independent. It is located in the commune of Vizantea Livezile and would have been over 100 years old if it hadn't been shut down.
The resort is 75% complete
People still remember how they used to bring water in barrels, by cart, from springs in the middle of the forest and prepare baths at home. The sick came on stretchers and, after a few washes, went home on their own two feet, the elders recall.
The new spa complex will be inaugurated in 2024 and will benefit from the latest and most modern equipment. "Work on the Spa Complex in Vizantea-Livezi began in August 2022 and has a completion deadline of September 2024.
So far, the work has progressed according to schedule, we have no problems regarding financing, the degree of execution being approximately 75%.
We have also started the tender for the necessary equipment (electronics, appliances, furniture, various products, etc.) and we hope that the inauguration will take place at the end of this year, after we obtain all the operating permits," said Dragoș Ciobotaru, mayor of the commune.

At the same time, the complex will also be a leisure destination for young people or families with children, having indoor pools with hot water, jacuzzi, saunas, fitness rooms, an outdoor pool with heated water, playgrounds for children, nature walks with sleighs or carts, visits to animal farms with the possibility of spending a night on the farm, tastings of traditional products, etc.
