Any small space can be inhabited when the design follows a functional approach. You focus on what you want to achieve in the end, and during the furnishing works, you make sure you make the best decisions regarding finishes and furniture so that the home is optimally used.
That's why we chose to present this apartment today and inspire you from the ideas applied in its design.
You will notice first of all the configuration of the apartment; the rooms are long and narrow, which often causes additional headaches. We invite you to follow in the photos above how the functions of the space were conceived so that natural circulation is maintained.
For the living room, only strictly necessary furniture pieces were chosen. The sofa is placed against the wall, and opposite it, a panel with 2 shelves was designed, with the television positioned in the middle. By choosing such a piece (see also the height), space could be created for 2 ottoman-type armchairs perfectly integrable under the shelf.
They can be used as additional seating spots, instead of armchairs which would unnecessarily clutter the space. The entire conversation area forms a whole thanks to the rug that gives a unified look to the composition.
Also in the living room, a dining area was set up, since the narrow space of the kitchen did not allow this. A table with chairs for family moments, enhanced by pendant lights that pleasantly illuminate the dining area.
The kitchen communicates directly with this dining area, the door between the rooms being removed. The configuration of the room allowed only a linear arrangement of furniture, including appliances. To create the illusion of amplifying the space, the wall opposite the furniture was clad with mirrors - an ingenious approach that we recommend only if there are no young children in the family.
The predominant chromatic is a neutral one, and wood plays the main role. Oak essences are found uniformly both on the paneled living room wall and at the level of the table, chairs or kitchen furniture. This ensures continuity aimed at mitigating spatial limitations.
Ambient lights from ceiling spotlights create a pleasant atmosphere throughout the entire design, especially in the bedrooms. The rooms are small but optimally furnished. Natural materials, cotton and linen in neutral tones, predominate to maintain the restful character of the room.
There is also a room designed for a work area, with a bookcase and desk; the sofa can even be used to accommodate an overnight guest.
