Scandinavians are renowned for their desire to have as much open space and natural light as possible. This stems from the fact that they "suffer" several months a year of darkness, with days being very short and nights long and depressing.
The apartment I'm proposing to you today is decorated in the purest Scandinavian style. Although it may appear cold at first glance, the entire layout is bright and welcoming through decorative details and accessories that adorn the home.
White is at home here: walls, ceiling, furniture. Light penetrates unhindered through every window and reflects in the satin white creating a positive atmosphere. It's worth noting that the windows have no curtains or drapes, a choice that Nordics often make when furnishing an apartment. The floor, made of wood with light hues, provides cohesion throughout.
Scandinavians love monochromaticity. Therefore, besides white, you will often encounter grays and black accents. In the case of this apartment, black represents accent elements in the decor. The frames of the paintings, decorative pillows, kitchen chairs, as well as other decorative details give the living space an extra touch of interest, being the predominant color spot.
Interestingly, the choice was made not to introduce other vibrant colors, with the green of the plants being the only one that accompanies the aforementioned color palette. The decor is minimalist. There are no unnecessary cabinets or shelves. A dresser on which the television is placed provides sufficient storage space.
What I particularly like is the lightness of the decor: a stack of magazines in a corner of the room, a mini collage of photographs above the bed in the bedroom, and a vintage desk are elements that give the space an easy bohemian, relaxed air that allows you to move freely without it seeming cluttered or tiring.
The slightly messy appearance of the light fixtures through the cables intentionally left visible fully illustrates this idea.
