A simple style is not always synonymous with a monotonous or boring decor. Neutral tones can make way for a surprising design that stands out through the shapes and associations chosen to create an arrangement. Here, in this apartment, white and wood host surprising, unusual forms.
Open the GalleryColors, neutral tones of white, cream, and the natural hue of wood dominate the entire decor.
However, the walls are not simply white; the brick texture adds extra interest to the room. The centerpiece of the living room is undoubtedly the custom-made shelf, placed at an oblique angle, giving the impression that all the books will flow towards the other side of the furniture on the adjacent wall.
To further highlight this unusual feature, the designer chose to use an intense color like turquoise. Moreover, the color harmoniously contrasts with the neutral gray of the sofa, rug, and coffee table.
The oblique lines will reappear as a leitmotif in the lighting fixtures above the dining table.
Wood plays a fundamental role and occupies a central place in this design. An entire wall is clad in wood towards the top, reaching the ceiling. For the kitchen, darker colors were chosen, which, when combined with wood, maintain an airy feel despite appearances through the minimalist layout.
The built-in shelf acts as a support for cookbooks. The living room is separated from the kitchen by white sliding doors, contrasting with the black of the wall and the entrance door.
The brick-textured wall functions as a divider between the living room and kitchen; on the living room side, it discreetly houses a dining area highlighted by a stylized painting with a black frame and oblique lighting fixtures, which I mentioned earlier. We note a slight industrial influence in the structure of the table, complemented by Eames chairs.
Lighting also plays an important role in the overall design. LED strips and spotlights provide adequate lighting for spaces where natural light does not penetrate.
