Storage spaces are an indispensable part of any home. Therefore, the designers from Don’t DIY Studios were tasked with creating new storage sectors and using the space intelligently to minimize details that could visually clutter the room.
The apartment, located in the center of Sofia, Bulgaria was decorated in a contemporary style, with personalized features according to the couple's wishes. It was also necessary to find efficient solutions to optimize the level of natural light entering the rooms. The result? A bohemian space, well-compartmentalized and efficiently furnished.
The living room appears as an open, multifunctional space: a socializing area, a dining area, a relaxation corner, and a work area. The veneer table located approximately in the middle of the room creates a connection between all the other zones; it is used for both dining, socializing at the end of the day, or as a desk.
Perhaps the most interesting area in this entire perimeter is the one with the fireplace built into the wall. Flanked by two armchairs, it is the perfect place to relax on long winter evenings.
The walls are painted entirely white to visually enlarge the space, but also to highlight the texture of the wood and the colors in the living room. A unique feature is the exposed brick wall, also painted white. The blue sofa contrasts pleasantly with the wall, putting it even more in value.
The ottoman-type chair upholstered in colorful textiles and the painting placed at the level of the sofa complete the color scheme of the room, giving it a touch of joy and dynamism.
Throughout the apartment there are multifunctional spaces for storing clothes, shoes, or even a washing machine. However, the most ingenious modification seems to be the hidden kitchen behind sliding doors. Once opened, they reveal an integrated, fully equipped kitchen.
The bedroom breathes minimalism through every detail. The sculpted headboard is the main attraction of the room, combining custom-made features with modern accessories. Although small, the bathroom is bright and minimalist, with original niches created in the wall.
The hallway was enlarged, and the old kitchen in the apartment was also modified to make way for the necessary wardrobes. Most of the furniture was made to order to meet the storage needs and bring new features to the fore of the home.
