If we were to try and define Apro Zar pub (formerly the Tabiet teahouse), we could confidently say that it is the "central headquarters" of board games.
Board games such as Activity, Settlers of Catan, Ticket To Ride, Dixit or Alias are just a few of the many games that those at Apro Zar put at the disposal of those who want to spend their free time with friends in the fairytale world of board games.
Apro Zar is located in the Piata Unirii area, on Strada Culmea Veche at number 2, and the location also has a terrace and a workshop where art classes are held for children and adults.
Mihnea Radulescu, one of the owners, told us about the specifics of this location: "we set out to offer people more than just a simple night out in the city. Whether it's an evening dedicated to board games, a concert, a play or a competition, those who visit Apro Zar have the opportunity to relate and socialize in a different way.
From a decor point of view, we can say that it reflects the concept of the location, namely play and good cheer. The 200 square meter space is very colorful and cheerful, and in these combinations of elements one can observe a very personal, positive and playful style.
Many puzzles, game boxes, paintings, maps, photos of customers and other decorations are displayed on the walls, some purchased and others received as gifts from customers.
“Our customers' wishes influenced us the most, we also drew inspiration from some board games and, in general, from the activities we undertake" Mihnea further told us about how this location was designed.
The activities hosted by Apro Zar are very diverse. Here, everything from themed board game nights, concerts, competitions, children's shows, improvisation evenings, stand-up comedy or theater, to art classes, creative workshops and vernissages is organized. In the near future, events will move to the terrace.
It goes without saying, because summer has almost arrived and it would be a shame not to take advantage of it.
Mihnea also told us about the courses held in the workshop at Apro Zar: "we have observed people's tendency to invest (primarily time) in their hobbies. Three years ago we started organizing art classes and creative workshops at Ceainaria Tabiet.
As the concept developed rapidly, we decided to separate the tea room part and form a new company that would exclusively deal with the organization of artistic activities. We also have a website: artandhobbystudio.ro where you can find our schedule. We work with several teachers specialized in various fields such as fine arts, fashion and interior design, handmade or personal development/psychology.
We relate directly to customers, we've befriended most of them, so at their suggestion, we diversified the menu (where we have everything from refreshing drinks to spirits, food and pastries), events organized, music, interior design, etc.
