Plants offer numerous benefits for interiors, from absorbing toxins to their aesthetic functions, making them welcome in any home. Typically, we choose to place pots in the living room, bedroom, or kitchen. But have you considered bringing them even into the bathroom? As unusual as it may sound, many designers are adopting this style of decorating with plants for bathrooms.
Of course, we need to consider a few conditions. Ideally, these spaces would have a window for natural light, but we understand that not all bathrooms have this feature. The space itself also plays an important role. The smaller it is, the harder it will be to integrate a plant. However, nothing is impossible.
First, we need to focus on plants that can thrive with limited light and enjoy humidity. Certain types of ferns are suitable for this type of habitat, somewhat resembling their natural environment. Bamboo also falls into this category, and in a larger bathroom, a bigger pot can be placed on the floor.
Just remember that bamboo needs a sufficient amount of water.
Aloe vera comes in a variety of sizes, shapes and textures; you can choose the variety that best suits your bathroom. We only recommend it if you can provide it with at least a corner of constant natural light. Ivy can also be grown in the favorable environment of the bathroom, provided that it is also given sunlight.
Sansevieria, or snake plant as it is popularly known, is a popular plant suitable for any home. It absorbs toxins from the air and is generally resilient, not requiring much care. In the bathroom, you can place them in a free corner or even on the edge of the bathtub if there is a wider ledge that protects the plant from direct contact with water and soap.
Add other decorative elements for an extra touch of interest.
If the bathroom is spacious enough, you can also try a vertically arranged mini garden.
