The old-world charm of the buildings wouldn't be complete without furniture pieces and finishes of impeccable quality, proof that they still exist today, facing times that haven't been the most favorable for them.

Fortunately, there are passionate people who understand their value and cherish it in the best way possible: by giving them a new life and integrating them into contemporary settings. Even if you're not a fan of retro or vintage pieces, this interior design deserves your attention and admiration.

The house I want to tell you about is at least 100 years old and has a tumultuous history, but it can still be inhabited. Designing an interior for such a property is a challenge both outside and inside. The interior challenge was accepted, and the result is surprising and admirable at the same time.

Special attention was paid to preserving the details that give it its authentic charm. As many of the structural elements as possible were retained, reminding us of the original beauty of the building's interior. The original joinery also plays an important role in this design.

The interior doors with glass and brass handles, as well as the window casings, all contribute to a faithful rendering of the retro decor. Even the decorative tiles found in the bathroom and kitchen, as well as the solid wood parquet flooring, were preserved.

The living room enjoys a generous space which allowed for an extensive layout of the living area and dining space. The furniture pieces blend into a very well-executed eclectic décor, where the mix of old and new is contoured with overflowing naturalness. A few timeless pieces stand out: the buffet in the dining room (excellently refurbished) or the furniture in the office area.

Auxiliary furniture fills the gaps and corners in the rooms, having a double function, both aesthetic and functional, being used as particularly useful storage spaces.

The design breathes history through every detail, which continues in a unitary and coherent way through each room and function of the house. Parallel to the interest in keeping the original spirit of the house alive, the design maintains a practical spirit in line with the needs and comfort of contemporary life.

While the living area is predominantly retro-vintage, the kitchen features a modern design with straight-line main furniture, a glossy white finish, and state-of-the-art appliances. However, the narrative thread developed in the other rooms continues here with the decorative tile flooring or the vintage table and chairs.
