No matter how you choose to define a beautiful kitchen, one thing is for sure; all kitchens that we like and are drawn to have one thing in common: brightness. Any kitchen with natural light will transmit a feeling of well-being and eclipse at least some of those things we don't like.

Even if your kitchen space doesn't receive as much natural light as you would like, there are tricks you can use to enhance the brightness of this room in your home.

Mirrors and glass reflect light so try to introduce these materials into your kitchen in one form or another. I told you in a previous article (which you can read here) about new trends in kitchen design, referring to the colored glass panel. Instead of the tile front, you can opt for such a panel and thus change the look of the arrangement.

There are either colored or very little colored variants, translucent or transparent, depending on your preferences.

Another method by which you increase brightness is that of an entire wall or just a door made of tempered glass. If the wall is common with that of the living room, you can thus create an effect of open plan between the functions, and unpleasant odors from the kitchen will not reach the other rooms.

Some of the cabinets in which you will store your kitchen-specific items can have glass doors with a wooden or metallic frame.

White is a perfect background for any room, including the kitchen. White reflects light and gives you a feeling of airiness and spaciousness so necessary especially in a small space, as kitchens usually are. You can choose to have the furniture completely white, with a glossy finish, or the front between the cabinets to be covered with white Metro-type tiles.

What else can you do? Paint the walls with a special paint called epoxy which has this glossy effect.

If you have chosen white as predominant in the kitchen, bet on a shade of natural wood for the floor, in earthier tones, whether you choose parquet or tiles. You will balance the chromatic and the arrangement a bit.

And choosing the countertop can transform your kitchen into a brighter and more pleasant space. Although it may be more expensive, a countertop made of granite or quartz in lighter shades can be a winning and durable choice (see here the article about materials for countertops).

Every detail counts in a kitchen that doesn't receive too much natural light. For example, appliances. Choose models with a stainless steel look, such as the refrigerator or oven to get some of this sparkle effect which, together with those mentioned above, will help you transform the kitchen into a brighter and more spacious space.
