In a two-room apartment with an area of 40 square meters, the furnishing options can be quite limited. However, the intervention of a designer will produce changes that you may not have seen or been sure you could make. This furnishing project comes to fully confirm these things.
Opening the GalleryWith a two-room configuration, the apartment seemed quite fragmented. There were few storage spaces, and the rooms seemed smaller due to inefficient lighting. The designers who worked on this project came up with the proposal to remove the wall between the kitchen and the living room, widening the living area. The space thus became more fluid and brighter.
A desk was set up in the bedroom, and an additional wardrobe for storage was added in the hallway.
The beneficiary wanted a modern, bright and welcoming home, adapted to her needs. Outdated installations were replaced, with special attention paid to the electrical ones by bringing in more lighting fixtures for each function.
To make the spaces brighter, a lot of white, beiges and discreet greys were used, with a laminate base balancing the rooms chromatically. Colorful accents attract attention and create points of interest for each area, such as the blue wall for the conversation area in the living room. The furniture in this area was custom-made according to the designers' sketches.
The delimitation between the kitchen and the living room is made through a dining area, which stands out due to the industrial design lighting fixtures.
For the kitchen, a functional layout was created as possible. The furniture was arranged on two sides, incorporating appliances. The effect obtained is a unitary and ordered one.
The grey-blue front of the cabinets brings an elegant touch to the arrangement, reducing the technical character of the kitchen; tiles of the Metro type were used between the units, and a similar but matte stoneware was used at floor level. Track spotlights ensure uniform lighting, while LED strips mounted under the upper cabinets provide the necessary accent lighting when cooking.
