It's impossible to walk into a baby store and not want to buy everything. If you also look through magazines or watch TV shows that show the decor of celebrities' nurseries, you surely already have a lot of ideas on how to decorate, but you know you'd have to spend a small fortune on all these things.

Here are five tips for decorating your baby's room on a budget.

1. Ask relatives and friends

The easiest way to spend less on furniture, toys, and children's clothes is to receive them as gifts from other parents. Many of them are happy to pass on things their child no longer needs or doesn't fit anymore because they have grown.

If you have a relative or friend who has a child who is three or six months older than yours, you should ask. The items will be new (very important if it's about safety items: cribs, car seats, strollers, etc.) and they won't need them anymore and probably don't even know how to get rid of them.

2. Buy second-hand

Second-hand stores and flea markets are great places to buy lightly used items. You can save a lot of money this way, and in some places you might even find higher quality items. Since many people constantly buy new things for babies, you could find them very lightly used or even new at such stores.

3. Set a budget and stick to it

Be realistic and decide exactly what you need. As fun as it is to buy small and adorable things, you don't need most of them. Having a set budget will make it easier for you to resist.

4. Choose wisely
