We don't like it, but we are preparing for the arrival of winter. And even if we don't see it, the garden remains there under the layer of snow, and for it to be just as fresh and beautiful next year, we need to take care of it before it freezes. Surprisingly, some of the most demanding plants in the garden this season are roses.

To have Roses Beautiful and in the following year you have a few rules to follow. The first of these is that from mid-October you should no longer use any fertilizers, which also applies to other plants, as it is not good to fertilize in the last 7-8 weeks before frost. However, do not stop treatments against pests.

Get Zeama Bordeleza from florists, which helps roses ripen and protects them against frost. Use it after you have pruned them or after heavy rain or hail if necessary to revive them.

Water the garden every other morning and water abundantly if you have a dry season. When snowfall approaches at the end of November, cover the graft with soil to form a layer of 20-30 cm above it.

If you have climbing roses or trees wrapped in a breathable canvas sack filled with straw to protect them from frost.

If you have just planted roses this season to enjoy them next year, then cover them with a 5-liter plastic jerrycan that you cut, to protect them as best as possible from low temperatures. Until the snow comes, water the soil around the jerrycan daily. In spring, you are allowed to open the caps, but do not remove the jerrycans until the temperature is stable.
