We're talking about planting sea buckthorn bushes because this is the kind of plant whose fruits have miraculous medicinal properties, but it can also be cultivated as a decorative plant. Everyone knows that this shrub produces fruits with more than health benefits, but what would you say if it were planted as a decorative plant too? We think it's a great idea.
Therefore, we will provide you with some tips on how to plant and care for it.
If you want a sea buckthorn bush in your garden, it is best to plant seedlings in autumn or spring. During the April-May period, you can find sea buckthorn seedlings in large markets or specialty stores.
Before planting, sea buckthorn seedlings must undergo a process called mocirlire. Mocirlire is an operation in which the roots of the seedlings are coated in a mixture of nutrients: water, yellow earth, and manure. After this procedure, the sea buckthorn should be planted deep, at least 50 centimeters deep, to allow the roots to develop as well as possible.
After inserting the root into the hole, it is filled with fertile soil and gradually pressed down with the foot, followed by the creation of a mound on the surface to cover part of the stem. After planting the seedlings, they must be watered abundantly around the root.

In the first year after planting, be sure to remove weeds around the newly planted shrub and water it only if the soil is very dry, but no more than 4-5 waterings from spring to late autumn.
Once planted, the shrub adapts easily to conditions of low or high humidity, withstanding even the most severe droughts and temporary floods.
Catina is a shrub that adapts to any type of soil, on dry land, slopes, but also on chernozem and brown-red soils, and sometimes catina even grows on saline soils where other species cannot develop. However, catina needs a lot of light, so choose a very sunny spot for planting.
After planting the sea buckthorn bushes, they will bear fruit in the second year, but if conditions are good, they may produce a small amount of berries even in the first year.
