Importance and Objectives of Cleaning

Constant use of the washing machine leads to the accumulation of detergent, fabric softener, limescale, and other organic impurities. These deposits can cause inefficient operation of the appliance, unpleasant odors, and the development of bacteria or mold.

Periodic cleaning is essential to maintain optimal performance of the washing machine, ensure hygiene of clothes, and extend the lifespan of the appliance. White vinegar represents an effective solution for this purpose due to its acidic properties that dissolve mineral and organic deposits and act as a disinfectant.

2. Necessary Materials

The following materials are required to perform this procedure:

White vinegar: approximately 500 ml.

Baking soda: 2-3 tablespoons.

A cloth or non-abrasive sponge.

A small brush (optional): useful for cleaning hard-to-reach areas.

3. Steps of the Cleaning Process

The procedure must be performed with the washing machine empty.

Cleaning manual components: Inspect and clean the rubber seal of the hatch with a cloth dampened in vinegar to remove any traces of mold or residue. Remove the detergent drawer and wash it separately with hot water and a brush to eliminate stubborn deposits.

Introducing cleaning agents: Pour the amount of white vinegar directly into the drum of the washing machine. Introduce the baking soda into the detergent compartment.
