In the village of Berca, Buzau County, teacher Nicoleta Marin decided to apply a completely new concept for the area and even for Romania.
A small tourist complex built from adobe houses aims to attract more and more tourists from the country and abroad, impressing with the beauty and ingenuity of the houses built and the conditions offered to those who decide to visit the mud volcanoes and other tourist attractions in the Buzau area.
Cob Village Berca was realized with the help of construction specialists, architects, and volunteer students from the Faculty of Architecture and Landscape Architecture, within the "Ion Mincu" University of Bucharest.
In addition to the houses built entirely from adobe, which have a very safe and resistant structure and an appearance that integrates perfectly with the surrounding environment, Cob Village Berca now also has a green roof with a total area of 320 square meters, which has already won the admiration of locals and beyond.
The plants brought to be planted on the roofs of the Cob Village houses in Berca were carefully selected and sorted by young landscape architects, who after applying the loamy soil and insulating material on the roof, proceeded to planting flowers and landscaping the entire space.
Fertilization of the soil was also carried out with the help of sheep's wool, which was scattered over the soil placed on the roof, after which it was covered with another layer of soil to create optimal growing conditions for the newly planted plants and flowers.
A small path was created among the flowers in the landscaping, where visitors can admire the plants in all their splendor, grown on one of the most charming green roofs in Romania.
Choosing a green roof is a successful choice for the exterior design of any house, as it provides a unique and extremely beautiful appearance, especially during the flowering period of the chosen plants.
