The renovation of this apartment in Brazil proved to be no easy feat for the architect who oversaw this transformation. The dwelling has become the owner's favorite place, as it was previously inhabited by a family.
Open Gallery The most important change took place in the central part of the house. The kitchen, dining area and living room form a single space. This is a bold move that is also aesthetically pleasing. The surface is extensive, but it doesn't bore with flatness as you might suspect.
On the contrary, each space has its role well defined, although there are no physical barriers of any kind to suggest differences between the rooms; the transition is smooth, with continuity in every defining element.
On an entire wall, in the living area, windows were installed to increase brightness; long curtains ensure the necessary privacy.
Here, two types of zones were created: one comfortable offered by a sofa with a multitude of comfy pillows and a low black bench in contrast to two yellow armchairs. The coffee table is a tiered one with a wooden frame and glass top, being the element that pleasantly transitions between elements.
The light in this apartment is exceptional: on a long countertop that smoothly connects the rooms there are 3 lamps emitting 3 different colors. The ceiling overflows with bright spotlights. However, the centerpiece is the Tom Dixon lamps mounted above the dining table. Their diverse shapes and contrasting colors adorn the decor beautifully.
The TV area was specially placed in a corner of the room to offer intimacy, although from this angle you can see the entire space.
The kitchen is a special space, being the most colorful part of the house. The colors are bold; shades of blue, blue-green, with an area from floor to ceiling dedicated to wine bottle holders. The idea is magnificent because it integrates perfectly into the landscape and doesn't take up unnecessary space, the decor being compact.
