About the architects Bogdan Ciocodeica and Diana Rosu I have written before in the pages The story of the house. We are happy to see them again this time with a spectacular arrangement (as they have accustomed us) already appreciated by specialized publications.

Apartment M is a project for a 120 square meter home in Bucharest, the home of a family that values contemporary design and loves open, dynamic spaces.

Given this context, Bogdan and Diana started arranging the apartment by focusing on outlining functions that communicate with each other for the daytime area and delimiting the nighttime space to offer the necessary intimacy for family members.

Thus, we have an open-plan area that harmoniously brings together the living room with a conversation space, the dining area, and a separate kitchen from the latter through an island unit used as a bar or a place for quick snacks.

United and seen as a whole, these 3 functions represent the house's point of interest or, in other words, the family meeting place where members can interact with each other regardless of their activity.

As the main finish, wood provides unity and coherence to the arrangement. Arranged both vertically and horizontally, from the floor level to the wall cladding, wood is the common denominator of a dynamic and flexible space.

In this context, metal pieces, shades of dark gray become accents of the interior and, at the same time, separate the different areas of the house, such as the entrance hall, the kitchen area, the glass partition separating an additional room for guests or the black lighting fixture in the living room. Wood softens all these metallic accents, acting as a neutral background.

The guest room, which can also be used as a workspace, is separated from the rest of the house by a metal glass partition. The sliding doors open and close, allowing the room to communicate with the rest of the living area.

The house's storage spaces are concentrated in the hallway area. We are talking about a wardrobe clad with mirrors on three sides, the fourth appearing as a black wall panel that contrasts with the rest of the room.
