In a 45 square meter space, many details need to be taken into account, especially when the future tenants are a young couple with a small child.
Open Gallery Since the purchased apartment is a studio type, the young people turned to the designer for advice on partitioning and efficient space arrangement. They wanted a simple, functional design with only the essentials.
Although in a small space there is the temptation to give up the bedroom and turn the sofa into a bed, here the beneficiaries wanted the comfort of a sleeping area. Thus, after evaluating the space, they opted for an open-space living area, emphasizing the kitchen, a small living room, reduced only to the presence of a sofa, and a closed bedroom with sliding doors.
Even though there is no window in the created room, the sliding doors with slightly opaque glass still allow a certain amount of light to penetrate from the living room windows.
The design follows a simple line, in neutral colors, nothing sophisticated. From the floor to the walls and furniture, the choices are in a safe zone, with pieces and arrangements that can be easily reproduced. Practically, the designer created a base for them that can be easily transformed according to their needs.
For the kitchen they chose white furniture, with a linear design, arranged on two sides. Some of the appliances, the microwave oven, the hob, the oven are built-in, and above the refrigerator a small storage space. Between the cabinets they chose rectangular white ceramic tiles. LED strips were added for enhanced accent lighting needed at the worktop level.
The dining area was arranged by the window, with current pieces that follow the same line found in many contemporary designs.
In the bedroom, the designer focused on creating a functional space. Thus, he provided 8 square meters for the parents' bed, a small wardrobe and a crib for the baby. In the remaining 2 square meters, a walk-in dressing room with several storage options was arranged.
Additional storage spaces were created in the hallway through a cabinet with sliding doors and open shelves arranged on the corner.
