A new year and a new design signed by the talented Romanian designers Today it's Oana Vasile from Diez Office's turn to propose an excellent project in an industrial style.
For those less familiar with this stylistic approach, industrial interior design involves the use or integration of materials such as concrete, metal, brick, and exposed brick walls, gray colors, neon lights, oxidized materials, epoxy floors, exposed installations such as pipes, wood, or massive materials.
Project Requirements
The functional layout of this space is distributed as follows: the day area is an open space consisting of a small vestibule, living room, dining area and kitchen with an annex for storage. The night area continues along a long hallway which integrates a generous storage space, a dedicated dressing room, a bathroom serving both the day area and the guest bedroom, and at the end of the perspective we find the master bedroom with an attached bathroom and a work area.
Livingul
The unique details in the living area don't stop there. The room is sprinkled with industrial pieces: from the concrete ceiling (the actual construction slab), to brass light fixtures, a wall covered with expanded metal sheet, or the element that also gives the project its name - the train rail.
We will find it as a component part in the television body, at the level of the kitchen countertop, but also at the dining table integrated into a solid wood countertop and supported by iron-concrete bars. To further soften the monotonous and cold colors of the industrial style, Oana chose a turquoise sofa and chairs reupholstered in the same color (the beneficiary's favorite).
The lighting fixture above the table was also designed with this goal in mind and custom-made by Glassworks. With the right light, any space feels more welcoming and comfortable despite darker tones.
