Interior design trends change year after year, and with them, our classic childhood images of what a home should look like evolve. When we talk about dining rooms, the first thing that comes to mind is that classic, massive family table with 12 chairs around which the whole family would gather for holidays and special occasions.

It was usually located in half of the living room, never having its own dedicated space and creating spatial issues. It would be crammed among display cabinets with glasses and trinkets and invariably, it would be near a television.

Modern design has significantly changed this perspective, and now dining receives special attention, partly due to the need to no longer clash with the rest of the house, but also because the dining area is actually the point where the family comes together and spends time together away from the television, work, and daily activities.

One of the key words when it comes to dining room design is minimalism. Forget about massive chairs, heavy rugs, and flowery tablecloths. It's a frequently used space so make sure the furniture is durable, built in simple lines, and that you have enough room around it to move easily.

Integrate the camera into the décor. For example, opt to furnish it with upholstered chairs in the same color as the drapes or, if you have wallpaper in the room, incorporate motifs from the wall into the table decor. Don't ignore the importance of accessories and create visual focal points here as well.

It is important to avoid strongly contrasting colors in this area, as the dining room is a place where harmony should be found in every form. Pastel colors from the beige range are recommended. For retro settings, we recommend colors such as mint green, sky blue, or peach.
