As the holiday season approaches, there's a desire to change the atmosphere throughout the entire home. A house prepared for this special time of year will remind you with every festive detail that it's time for relaxation and comfort.

While you can opt for elaborate decorations from stores at any time, we believe that nothing brings you closer to the holidays than themed decorative objects that you can make yourself. This way, you can be sure that you will always have a personal, unique, and extremely special Christmas decoration.

Before presenting the suggestions that caught our attention this season, we remind you of the small touches that will make your house a welcoming and cozy home in bad weather. First of all, pay attention to winter textures: rooms will be abundant with colorful and thick blankets and decorative pillows will always be a reason for relaxation.

Bring the specific light of the season into your home with white or silver candles, garlands of matte lights, and original candle holders. Don't neglect fragrant details: place small bunches of fir branches decorated with orange peels, gingerbread cookies, and anise in each room. Every step will remind you that it's the holidays.

Here are a few more simple decoration suggestions that will impress your guests and cheer you up:

1. This year, instead of classic garlands, choose to string pieces of candy or soft jellies on a red string. It will be a fun way to decorate the Christmas tree, and the little ones will radiate with delight.

2. Make socks from cheerful print materials (checks, polka dots) that you can hang in various corners of the house. By making them to your liking, they will have coherence, and the decor will be unified.

3. Instead of a single wreath to hang on the front door, opt for several smaller wreaths made from different materials. We tried with wheat spikes, pine cones, and many colorful ribbons.

4. Improvise an original candle holder. Here's how: place a bed of fir branches, holly, and dried floral elements on a wooden tray. The most important step is done. Now all you have to do is fix candle holders (the shape doesn't matter because they will be covered with vegetation anyway) on this bed.

5. Create a wish board for Santa Claus. You can make it out of wood, cardboard, or any mix of materials. The important thing is that it can hold messages or images from which Santa can draw inspiration. We suggest placing it in the hallway so that it can be admired by as many people as possible.

6. Glass jars with screw tops have been all the rage in recent years for interior design, thanks to their versatility. For the holidays, they can be transformed into wonderful decorations. Simply fill them with candy, sea foam, garlands, or cookies, decorate the lids with stars or ribbons, and you'll get a series of authentic decorative objects.
