Some renovations manage to truly surprise us. Finishes, colors, combinations of pieces that seemingly have no connection, functions integrated within other functions, are just a few of the features that describe an arrangement as unconventional. Here is such an example within this project.
Open Gallery Ceramic tiles imitating brick are everywhere in this house. Whether included in a partition or as a decorative finish, we can say that the texture of the brick is part of the theme developed in this eclectic decor.
Chromatically, blue dominates the arrangement, complemented by the reddish hue specific to bricks. The rest of the space maintains a neutral base, with white balancing the accent colors used.
The space is divided into two rooms, a kitchen and a main room, which in turn includes a living area and a sleeping area. Access between the two rooms is through two sliding doors. Keeping the doors open, the two functions communicate directly, leaving the impression that they form a single unit.
The kitchen area is open space, with access directly from the hallway. The configuration of the space allowed for an arrangement on two sides, one side with the worktop and the main storage areas (which go up to the ceiling for the upper ones), and the other side with built-in appliances.
The choice of lighting fixtures is surprising, two of them in an industrial style, while the chandelier above the dining area is in total contrast to the previous ones. The contrast goes further, with the armchair-type chair integrated among the others being an Eames type.
Placing the table near the doors is not accidental, it being a link to the living area. Here, the brick-textured partition wall appears once to delimit the sofa from a small desk and then to delimit the sleeping area. Blue is also resumed here, in the form of the accent wall that marks the TV area or the sofa.
The small bedroom includes a bed and a wardrobe for clothes. The mirrors on the doors reflect light and enlarge the space. Once drawn, the curtain provides an extra touch of intimacy to this small bedroom.
We will also encounter the unconventional in the bathroom, whether through the mirror, the arrangement of ceramic tiles or the painting of the wall in the upper part in a brick-like shade similar to the one used throughout the rest of the arrangement.
