Mint is one of the aromatic plants that should not be missing from any home. It is a revitalizing plant that is also a good medicine, it grows easily in any garden and needs to be given a minimum of attention and care. Mint is a good remedy for treating many ailments.
The first step in planting mint is buying seedlings. You need to check that the roots are healthy to be planted. Keep in mind that mint multiplies quickly so you don't have to buy too many seedlings. Another option is seeds.
Mint is a hardy plant that prefers shady places, it can be planted in any corner of the garden. However, it is preferable that mint is not planted in a very dark place, without light. When choosing the planting location, consider that this plant needs space.
If you don't want it to be too extensive, you can limit the area with other flower pots or a plastic sheet.
Dig a hole large enough (approximately 50 cm deep) and widen it depending on how many plants you want to plant. Then put a plastic sheet over the entire surface of the hole and punch holes in places to allow water drainage. The next step is to fill the place with the soil removed from the hole and plant the mint.
The plastic sheet helps prevent mint from spreading to unwanted places.
Opt for a large pot (at least 40 cm high), made of plastic or ceramic. Dig a hole large enough to fit the pot in it. The soil removed from the hole will then be put into the pot. Before placing the pot in the hole, make sure it has drainage holes at the bottom. You can also place the pot on the windowsill and you will always have a refreshing smell by the window.
Mint can be planted in any month, from early spring to late summer. If you are planting mint from seeds, it is recommended that the planting be done no later than July, so that the plant can grow until autumn. It is important that before planting mint, you water the soil because it must be moist.
