For the renovation of their 3-bedroom apartment, this family with two children turned to the designers at Inside Story. They wanted a modern design, with bright and welcoming rooms, storage areas, and a functional kitchen.

The apartment has an area of 63 square meters, and the rooms are quite small. Hence the need for the future layout to be as airy as possible, without cluttered spaces and bulky wardrobes.

Taking into account the needs and desires of the family members, the designers proposed a Nordic-inspired layout, with plenty of white and oak wood to keep the spaces bright, and for furniture they relied on modular units that do not visually overwhelm the space.

In the living room, a discreet geometric pattern predominates, which we find both at the level of the furniture pieces and at the level of the rug or curtains. The exposed brick adds texture, while color accents bring a cheerful note to the space. The surface area of almost 20 square meters allowed for the arrangement of a dining area.

To create a sense of spaciousness, the living room door was removed, and part of the hallway was designed as a continuation of the room through a reading nook with a bookcase and seating area. Excellent approach! Here we will also find some of the storage spaces in the form of wardrobes arranged next to the bedrooms.

The kitchen of almost 6 square meters was optimized by using a parallel arrangement of cabinets, utilizing vertical space. Appliances were incorporated into the furniture to keep the decor as tidy and unified as possible. The space between the upper and lower cabinets is clad with a glass panel to reflect light and amplify the space as much as possible.

To the same end, LED strips were added under the cabinets.

The master bedroom adopts the color palette from the living room. Despite the space of only 9 square meters, the designers managed to integrate storage areas symmetrically arranged on either side of the bed, as well as a chest of drawers and a small work area or dressing table, depending on the case. White and wood make a good match in this layout.

The children's room also received an appropriate optimization. The furniture was custom-made according to the designers' sketches, integrating two beds, a wardrobe for clothes, and various drawers. On the other side of the room, a study area was set up with a long desk and cabinets for books, notebooks, and other school materials needed by the children.
