Addressing a problem faced by many countries, designers at Carl Turner Architects have designed an adaptable solution for such conditions, which often produce significant damage. Thus, the Floating House, or floating house prototype, was born, adapting to increasingly harsh climatic conditions.

The design includes a floating platform, part vapor, being 100% autonomous, generating its own electricity through integrated solar panels. The concept itself is inspired by the condensed ecosystem similar to ships at sea.

The reduced weight of the house allows it to be built on a solid structure in a floodplain or valley, on piles or on a floating base. The interior of the house is made of stratified wood timber and a thick layer of insulation. The exterior is clad with fiberglass; the concrete hull is used as a floating platform or as a base in flood conditions.

Gardens are also incorporated into this design, both at the front and on the roof, enhancing the aesthetic appearance of the construction.

The architects hope that such houses can be accessible to as many people as possible who live in residential areas often affected by floods. To facilitate the process overall, the architects want to find methods by which the floating house can be built in components, which are then assembled on site in the shortest possible time.
