This renovation story is a true source of inspiration for those who desire to revamp their homes. We're talking about a family with one child and their two-bedroom apartment, which they decided to redesign upon learning that a new baby was on the way.
Initially, they thought the master bedroom would be transformed into the children's room, while the living room would become the parents' sleeping area.
They turned to Deschide Galeria, an interior design studio, with whom they discussed their desires and sought advice on the renovation. The designer's proposal surprised them by suggesting a configuration change, essentially transforming the two-bedroom apartment into three bedrooms by creating an additional bedroom.
They accepted the challenge, and the final project met their needs.
The focus of the design was functionality, and the Scandinavian style proved to be a viable option for this 60 square meter apartment. They opted for minimalist furniture, with only the essentials, but also created storage spaces wherever possible.
For the living area, the living room was designed in a minimalist manner, featuring a sofa, two pieces of furniture, and an armchair. Despite its reduced size, the space remains airy and fluid. Through the use of colors, textures, and accessories, the room gains subtle personality.
The kitchen remained a separate, enclosed room. The decor is simple, based on white with wooden accents that add warmth to the space. Choosing white fronts for the cabinets keeps the room bright and even more spacious. All appliances are integrated to maintain a unified and organized look.
The cabinets reach up to the ceiling, allowing for more efficient vertical storage. This is also where we find the dining area, elegantly designed and highlighted with a pendant light fixture.
The parents' bedroom measures only 8.5 square meters and has been furnished accordingly. The space allowed for the integration of a double bed, a dresser with drawers, and two shelves for small decorations or books. The neutral shade used to paint the walls creates a pleasant and relaxing ambiance.
