Frudisiac recently opened its doors, a café with a purely Scandinavian design located in Dorobanti, a highly renowned area of Bucharest for its cafés. We paid it a visit and can say we were very impressed with this establishment.
Upon entering Frudisiac, we were greeted by the pleasant and balanced color scheme provided by the wooden walls. The unusual shape of the ceiling, also made of wood, gives the room a very airy and relaxed atmosphere. Large windows allow plenty of natural light to enter.
The straight lines of the wooden shelf, combined with the shapes of the other furniture pieces, give the room a certain order and rhythm, which can be found especially in Scandinavian interiors.
At Frudisiac, the Scandinavian style is defined by simplicity, functionality, and the intelligent combination of elements without overloading the décor with unnecessary and jarring details. The tables are very robust, featuring a metal frame topped with solid wood tabletops.
The round wooden chairs are less austere than the tables, with a more playful look, and can be adjusted to different heights by rotating the seat top.
The lamps and other furniture pieces largely belong to brands from Nordic countries. All these elements lend authenticity to the decor and made us feel as though we weren't in a Bucharest establishment.
Simplicity and elegance are two other key features we found in abundance at Frudisiac. As we enjoyed our coffee, there were plenty of details to catch our eye: we looked at the metal coat rack with its unusual shape in the corner of the room, then at the ceiling fixture that simply left us speechless, then at the black lamps hanging on the walls.
The bar is definitely the "centerpiece." In addition to shelves stocked with various types of coffee, we can see a few crates full of fruit hanging near the bar.
Frudisiac is the perfect place to enjoy a coffee, tea, or a delicious slice of cake, in an authentic setting with discreet and refined background music.
Speaking of coffee, it's brought from Sweden and the tea from Denmark, but that's less important. The location itself and the fact that we can admire Nordic style in as pure a form as possible is the main reason why we will definitely revisit Frudisiac soon.
