Small spaces have always been a challenge for both those who furnish their homes themselves and for designers. In today's design, things become even more complicated because in a space of only 44 square meters, a family of 5 members must live: the parents plus the three children. A temporary solution until they can afford to purchase a larger apartment.
It seems like an impossible mission but designer Mira Kursinov managed to obtain maximum comfort and functionality from the available surface. However, when such a large family has to live in such a confined space, compromises are necessary.
The matrimonial bedroom is the most spacious, considering that it previously served as a living room. Every centimeter is exploited to the maximum and thought out as functionally as possible. The color palette is based on a white background and light shades such as: cream, beige, gray and accents of colors, such as blue.
The double bed, the largest possible as desired by the owners, manages to attract attention through the carefully chosen textures and the wallpaper with its nature theme brings a touch of freshness to the entire decor.
As can be seen in the images, the bed is placed centrally and on one side and the other we have a reading area with a desk and a dressing table across the width of the room, with many spaces dedicated to storage. Small details such as photographs, plants, decorative pillows, certainly manage to bring a personal and elegant touch to the entire space.
The second bedroom, which has an area of only 8.6 square meters, maintains the design line from the rest of the apartment. Natural colors like white, brown and beige manage to visually amplify the space and natural light also helps in achieving a visual balance. The furniture is limited to essentials: the bunk beds for the twins, a small table, a wardrobe and a comfortable armchair.
To furnish the kitchen space, which is also very limited at 5.7 square meters, the designer relied on simple but above all functional solutions, ensuring the strict necessities for the comfort of the whole family. The furniture was custom-made, arranged linearly and the appliances were incorporated.
