This couple turned to Inside Story for advice and guidance on making the right choices for furnishing their newly acquired apartment. They resonated with Scandinavian interiors and decided to base the project on this inspiration.
The apartment is a two-room unit with an area of 65 square meters. As they didn't have a very generous budget, they opted for simple but functional solutions to create a welcoming and comfortable home.
Because the kitchen doesn't offer much space, they wanted a dining area integrated into the living room. They also added a buffet-type piece of furniture near the table to create a coherent zone. The colorful chairs and suspended light fixture add interest to the space.
In the rest of the room, they envisioned a conversation area with a corner sofa and a console unit in the TV area. For now, they chose not to overcrowd the space, but later they could add a bookcase or open shelves to highlight the texture of the exposed brick wall.
The resulting room remains bright, both from natural light and thanks to the white finishes that amplify the space. The pops of color bring a touch of cheerfulness to the decor.
Everything in the kitchen was designed to be as functional as possible. They don't want to make major changes anytime soon, so they relied on the designers' ideas and quality finishes. There are storage spaces, with each area of the kitchen optimized; even the space by the window was used, providing more countertop space.
To keep everything unified, the appliances were incorporated.
The Nordic design line is also reflected in the bedroom. Using wallpaper with a colorful print, an accent zone was created next to the bed. The headboard is upholstered and provides extra comfort. For optimal storage, they opted for tall wardrobes reaching the ceiling, also with white fronts. The resulting decor is pleasant and welcoming.
A workspace with a small desk and cube shelves was also set up in the bedroom.
Functional, with optimal spaces, this two-bedroom apartment is a valuable source of inspiration for anyone about to embark on a renovation or refurbishment. We hope you find the information useful!
