Dole, the world's most recognized company in banana growing and marketing, has created a very interesting presentation video about the growth, harvesting, and packaging of bananas from their own plantations.

We all love bananas, especially small ones that are eaten with cookies and yogurt or in various other combinations, but how many of us have ever wondered: "How do bananas get to us?

The entire process of growing, harvesting, packaging, and transporting bananas is a complex and time-consuming one, and Dole wants to show us the care they put into each stage, from the first banana picked from the tree to the banana we buy at the hypermarket.

The first step in analyzing bananas for harvest is measuring them with a tall device, which will determine when a banana is ready to be sent to the next stage. Once selected, the banana is cut along with the entire bunch, and a protective material is placed between layers to prevent damage to their peel.

Bananas are harvested while still green so that they ripen exactly when they reach the stores, where we buy them yellow, sweet, and ready to eat.

After arriving at the factory, they are analyzed and washed thoroughly, sectioned into bunches of 5-7 bananas, and then receive Dole's certification label. If a banana in a batch is not yet ripe, the entire harvesting process is stopped until the ripening period is complete.
