Given Romania's long period under communism, knick-knacks, doilies, and a plethora of Chinese-made goods gradually made their way into the homes of Romanians who had recently moved to apartment blocks. These elements were omnipresent in our living rooms for a long time because they were the only things available on the market or that could be made with one's own hands.
Now that the transition period is over, or at least very close to ending, there are a few things you should know about interior design. Some of the elements that were always present in the living room have been surpassed by time and... good taste.
