When you can no longer find enough storage space, it's time to look for new practical solutions. Vertical storage could be the solution to your problem.

The walls of your home can be true allies of order with the right furniture pieces. Shelves, bookcases, open shelves or even drawers, all can be helpful for storing your belongings while decorating in a pleasant way at the same time.

A tall bookcase reaching almost to the ceiling can provide extra space that you can use for books, magazines, CDs, small decorative objects or souvenirs from trips. Whether freestanding or integrated with the rest of the living room furniture, this is the most convenient solution.

If the layout of the space allows, you can consider two identical bookcases placed symmetrically on either side of the door. In fact, they don't even have to be freestanding pieces, but you can create a niche from plasterboard panels and add shelves. A depth of 30cm is sufficient for books and magazines.

A similar arrangement can be made next to the window (see the idea in the photo gallery above).

You can store vertically using any type of furniture. It can be tall, as mentioned earlier, or if you have it custom-made, choose a height that you are comfortable with. Even up to half the height of the room.

A similar approach can be applied to your home office, with shelves reaching almost to the ceiling; special boxes, bibliotheca and files will thus find their place so that the office is an organized space and you know where to find each of the documents you need at any given time.

If the living room space is not enough to store all your belongings, try using the hallway space as well. By outlining a niche, you create an additional space that can be open like a bookcase or a built-in wardrobe.

Where else can you use vertical storage efficiently and creatively? In the kitchen and even on the balcony. Shelves are trendy for displaying your favorite cups and mugs or those you use most often, along with spice containers. And for the balcony, vertical storage translates into plant pots that you can arrange according to their size and the needs of the plants.
