The carpet is an important component of any bedroom, whether we are talking about color or texture, it must be pleasing to the eye and to the touch, thermally insulate and be comfortable. Seen from the outside, installing a carpet in the bedroom seems like a complicated task, but upon closer inspection you will see that it is something anyone can do.

The most important thing is to pay attention to details and have patience. Here are a few steps you should keep in mind when you want to get started:

the most difficult part is removing the old carpet or whatever was covering the floor before (linoleum, parquet etc.). The surface on which the carpet will be placed must be clean, smooth and as straight as possible. If the surface is very uneven, a self-leveling screed should be poured to ensure that it has the same height everywhere;

choosing the carpet. There are carpets that have a self-adhesive layer on one side which sticks directly to the floor. There are also adhesives with which you can glue the carpet (the most well-known is prenandez), it all depends on your choice. It is important to read the instructions carefully and respect the application method;

skirting boards. These should match the shade of the carpet or coordinate with the other accessories in the room. Or they can mask minor imperfections in case the walls have unevenness or the carpet has small cutting defects. They can be made of wood or plastic and can be attached with clips or screws;

cutting the carpet is done after it has been stretched well, with a very sharp cutter and a wooden meter. Carefully cut out the portions where pipes, radiator legs or the threshold need to fit in. It is preferable for the carpet to be stretched and left in the room for at least one day so that the material can straighten itself;

gluing the carpet. Clean the surface thoroughly of dust before applying the carpet, possibly with a vacuum cleaner. This will prevent the carpet from not sticking in certain areas and wrinkling. Start from the narrow part of the room and apply successively on a portion of 1 meter.

Smooth the carpet with a roller or a metal bar so that it adheres evenly and no air bubbles appear underneath. If the carpet is thicker and tends to lift, apply more adhesive;
