This project started with a desire to create a comfortable living space for the client's mother. In just 37 square meters, the designer had the challenge of creating a functional apartment that included everything from a sleeping area to efficient storage spaces.
The one-room apartment presented a unique challenge for the designer in terms of integrating and developing various functions while maintaining a simple, yet pleasant and relaxing decor. The client's requirements were minimal – she desired storage space for belongings accumulated over the years.
In the living area or main room, the designer combined several functions: a sleeping area separated by a drapery for added privacy, a wardrobe for clothes, a living room with a TV and cabinets for various items, and a small desk placed by the window.
The use of a sliding door instead of a traditional hinged door helped to optimize the available space. Around this door in the hallway, cabinets were integrated to create as many storage spaces as possible. Even next to the entrance door, a cabinet with sliding doors (one of which had a mirror) was incorporated.
Neutral colors in light tones, beiges and contrasting grays, were used throughout. The space inspires good taste, style, and above all, provides the desired comfort. This applies to the kitchen and bathroom as well.
Discrete prints (see how the rug pattern echoes the wallpaper design), warm hues, and well-designed artificial lighting for each function contribute to creating a modern and pleasant apartment. Despite integrating several zones into a single room, the space does not appear cluttered or overloaded with furniture and accessories.
The resulting decor inspires harmony and well-being.
The kitchen is also pleasantly designed. Simple lines with functional furniture are arranged on two sides. Basic appliances are incorporated, except for the refrigerator which was placed behind the kitchen door. A dining area was set up by the window.
