We all know that pumpkins are the centerpiece of any party Halloween is a holiday celebrated annually on October 31st. It originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts. In modern times, Halloween is a popular time for trick-or-treating, costume parties, carving pumpkins, and telling scary stories.

Many Romanians celebrate Halloween by dressing up in costumes and going door-to-door asking for "Dulciuri sau șotii?" (Treats or tricks?). Some people also hold Halloween parties with spooky decorations and themed food and drinks.
Whether you're a fan of this holiday or not, decorating pumpkins will cheer you up and be a fun way to enjoy time with your children.

Make sure you have the raw materials – pumpkins of various sizes and even gourds. Then look for paints in different colors and textures, matte, acrylic, or with glitter. Then think about what designs you want to create. Depending on this, you'll know if you need to let the paint dry before applying the design or a new color.

Painted pumpkin models in a duo of colors, such as yellow-black, will have a great effect. Or trace a diagonal line and apply a single color that will contrast with the natural shade of the pumpkin. White – gold is an equally suitable combination for decorating pumpkins.

Another original idea consists of applying a color to the entire surface of the pumpkin. Then add chalkboard paint only at its base and let it drip or hand-paint fine lines, giving the impression of dripping. The resulting patterns will integrate beautifully into autumnal decor with colorful pumpkins.

After applying the paint layer, come up with various household items that you can stick onto the pumpkins in different ways. Caps, buttons, feathers or even pine cones will help you create original patterns. And a simple permanent marker will help you express your creativity through drawing.

If the above options seem complicated, try using aluminum foil. Cut it into a leaf shape at the base of the pumpkin and the decoration is ready. Try creating a simple decoration with twine to place the pumpkin in and then hang it on the veranda, terrace or balcony among other plants. You can also carve it into the shape of a Jack-o'-lantern and place it in the window, on the sill.
