Two young people from Bucharest furnished their balcony for only 1000 lei.
What a wonderful sunrise! Let's have breakfast on the balcony!" Gelu and Silvia live in a small apartment in the capital. Like all Bucharest residents, they thought about how to transform the hot summer days into beautiful and cool moments spent on the balcony, in the hustle and bustle of the city.
That's how they came up with the idea of furnishing a bed with a canopy in a unique style and perfect for facing the scorching summer heat on a budget of only 1000 lei!
Wouldn't you also like to admire the sunset or sunrise while relaxing in bed, enjoying an ice cream or a cold cocktail?
Surely you are wondering: where can I find a bed that fits the dimensions of the balcony? Don't worry. You can build it yourself with the desired dimensions.
You will need some planks, which you can buy from a DIY store, to build the frame. Cover it with a special wood varnish, possibly colored, like the one in the picture.
You can also build a shelf out of wood next to the bed to place ornamental stones, plants, photos or other decorations to your liking. Leave a 5 mm space between the wooden planks. This way, you can install spotlights or other lighting fixtures underneath. They will have a wonderful effect!
The mattress is made of polyurethane foam, cut to the size of the frame and covered with a cover made at a tailor's shop. Simple, isn't it?
For the canopy, you need a wooden frame to attach the curtains to. Inside the frame, improvise a support for the curtain rod from a clothesline.
