Small spaces? We've gotten you used to them already. However, the interior design solutions continue to surprise us with every project we encounter. Just like this 28 square meter studio apartment that Xenia from Zucchini studio saw as a real challenge.
The difficulty encountered came from the couple's desire to have a sleeping area. In addition, the wall between the room and the kitchen could not be removed, hence the challenges that arose in the design process. How did it turn out? It's worth taking a look at the images and getting inspired whether you live in a similar space or a larger one.
Everything you will find here can be useful to you.
The space is minimally treated, furnished only with essential pieces. However, we have outlined the functions requested by the beneficiaries. In a niche, the designer managed to incorporate the bed thus creating the desired sleeping area. Under the bed, storage spaces were created, absolutely necessary for such a small space, and a curtain provides an extra touch of intimacy to this mini-bedroom.
A sofa, a console for the television, a coffee table and an open shelf make up a minimalist living room. By the window, the long countertop also offers workspace complemented by a high bar stool.
The color scheme is predominantly neutral. A light gray shade was used for the walls, "warmed" by the wood essence of the flooring.
Being forced to use every square meter precisely, tall cabinets up to the ceiling were chosen in the kitchen, thus having more storage space. The white of the furniture and Metro-type ceramic tiles is complemented by the black of the floor tiles. The pattern of the decorative tiles breaks the monotony of the space.
The worktop continues above the radiator by the window for extra space needed when cooking.
Wardrobes were fitted in the hallway to take over the main storage function in this apartment. To distract attention from the narrow space, the decorative tiles from the kitchen continue into the hallway, and on the entrance wall, the photo wallpaper breaks the monotonous rhythm of white. Another trick that supports the hallway decor is the tall mirror with a black frame.
