Open Gallery But have you ever thought that maybe you could make the desired furniture pieces yourself, at home? Others have done it. Here is a successful DIY project that you can apply too.
How about a coffee table for your living room made from a car tire? You will need a tire. Make sure it doesn't have deep cuts. Clean it with a stiff brush and a garden hose until all impurities are removed. Then let it dry thoroughly.
Measure the circumference of the tire and cut two circles from two pieces of plywood that you will mount on top and bottom of the tire. The one underneath should have a diameter four centimeters smaller than the other.
Cut three legs from a piece of wood and glue them to the smaller piece of plywood. After gluing them with adhesive and it has dried completely, secure them with screws.
Then glue the two pieces of plywood to the tire with adhesive. Lacquer the wooden legs of the table or paint them as you like.
Apply adhesive to the tire and wrap the rope around it just like in the pictures above. Be careful not to leave any gaps. Proceed in the same way for the top plywood.
