Radishes are among the vegetables with the fastest growth and have a high demand, especially in spring, when their season begins. Radishes can be grown in any climate, and if you live in an apartment building, you can even plant them in pots on your balcony.

The seeds are planted 1.25 cm deep, directly into the ground or pot, at a distance of 5 cm from each other, and the period from planting to harvesting radishes is only 3 weeks, making them very efficient and easy to grow and maintain.

It is preferable to arrange a shady spot in the garden or indoors, as this is the environment they thrive in best. Among the plants that grow best next to radishes in the garden without "bothering" each other are: cucumbers, zucchini, beans, melons, lettuce and peas.

It is best to harvest the radishes as soon as possible because they become tough if they stay in the ground for too long and are not as tasty at the table. They can be used for cooking, though. Small radish varieties are eaten raw, simple, as a side dish, while the larger ones with long roots are only used for cooking due to their very bitter taste.

Radishes are a vegetable that is very easy to plant and grow, and if you want to lead a healthier lifestyle, you can start planting more and more vegetables with a short harvest period so that you can enjoy the freshness of your own crops throughout the year.
